Some who argue that Luke wrote Hebrews contend that he was Jewish. Please consider Colossians 4:10, 11, and 14. In Colossians 4:10-11, Paul identifies the Jews who are with him–Aristarchus, Mark, and Jesus called Justus who are “the only Jews among my co-workers . . .” Then in Colossians 4:14, Paul who is with Luke sends Luke’s greetings to them. Luke is present with Paul and is left out of list of the only Jews who were with Paul. Paul did not identify Luke as a Jew when he was identifying Jewish co-workers. This seems to drive a stake through the heart of the argument that Luke was Jewish.
